First Cuts Specialist Full Time NEW

Position Overview:

Ducworks is a custom fabrication company located in Logan with ISO, AS9100 and AISC certifications. We are a fast paced and highly skilled weld & machining fabrication shop involved in some of our nation’s most important and sensitive programs. The First Cuts Specialist will assist with first cuts by utilizing our saws, burn table, beam line, waterjet, shear, and brake press.

Essential Job Functions:

· Fabricate, assemble, and repair sheet metal products.

· Operate Shear.

· Bend complex angles on CNC Brake Press.

· Roll tubes, angles, flat bar & sheets on various types of rollers.

· Operate Waterjet machine to cut metals, plastics, foam, glass, etc. to customer specifications.

· Set up and run Beam Line.

· Use horizontal band saws to cut various structural shapes to length.

· Perform daily preventative maintenance.

· Reads and interprets blueprints and can understand how to make a part from start to finish.

· Load and unload equipment with material using an overhead crane or forklift.

· Keep machines and area clean and organized.

· Drop is properly and quickly recycled or returned to the yard as appropriate.

· Actively check cut lengths and angles for accuracy.

Other Job Responsibilities:

Safety:

Comply with OSHA regulations and standard shop safety practices in the following areas (including but not limited to): personal protective equipment, chains & slings, cranes, forklifts, extension cords, machinery guards, etc. Safety is the responsibility of each employee.

Quality:

Understand the Ducworks Quality Manual and abide by its principles, programs, quality and craftsmanship standards.

Skills Required:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in metal fabrication environment.
• Able to read blueprints, shop plans, & assembly drawings.
• Able to lift 75+ lbs. unilaterally and bilaterally for up to 20 feet.
• Able to pull and push up to 100 lbs. using equipment for up to 20 feet.
• Ability to go up and downstairs (20+ steps).

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
