Maintenance Technician Job Description
Supervise and assist with day-to-day self-storage facility operations, such as but not limited to:
Completing regularly scheduled walk-throughs, service tasks, cleaning, and reporting
Communicating with and reporting to office staff via cell phone and other electronic devices
Overlocking, removing locks, auditing units, and inventorying auction units
Inspecting and cleaning storage units – including doors, latches, ceilings, walls, and floors
Assisting customers/staff with needed help
Monitoring and reporting on the physical condition of properties
Preventing maintenance related problems before they arise
Keeping all facilities clean and clear of trash and debris
Performing general facility repairs to buildings, units, fences, gates, mechanical systems, etc
Supervising and assisting on maintenance projects completed by vendors/others
Performing general/light-duty pest control, electrical, painting, plumbing, and carpentry tasks
Performing lawn care, weed control, and landscape maintenance
Using necessary tools and equipment to complete tasks
Performing all snow removal duties
Inventorying merchandise, tools, supplies, etc.
Ensuring the facility has sufficient supplies on hand to conduct business/job duties
Safely handling chemicals and materials
Conducting daily scheduled/unscheduled travel to multiple sites for various tasks
Managing multiple projects
Committing to be available for afterhours/emergency situations
Regularly performing physical tasks – including bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50+ lbs
Completing all assigned tasks within quality, time, and financial constraints
Performing all work using safe work practices and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
Completing any and all additional tasks as directed by management/ownership
Promoting Northside Storage at every opportunity
