Job Responsibility:
- Assist the Director of Engineering in the day-to-day operations of the engineering department
- Oversee general and preventative maintenance and repairs of guest rooms, meeting spaces, public areas, back of house areas, and equipment
- Ensure proper execution of work order/systems requests
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules
- Maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools
- Inspect and observe equipment in operation
- Ensure that meter readings are taken daily
- Ensure Engineers maintain clean, organized, and safe working areas
- Assist in supervising and training all Engineers
- Ensure all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified
- Assist the Director of Engineering with major projects
- Provide assistance to other team members
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
Requirements:
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
- Refined verbal and written communication skills
- 2-4 years previous hotel experience as a maintenance department supervisor or progressive maintenance responsibility
- Working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, screening, locks, HVAC, boiler operations, and proper tool and chemical use
- The ability to lift, pull and push a moderate weight and the ability to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per shift)
- Must be available to work evenings
Nice to have:
- Previous supervisory experience overseeing employees
- Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
