EDM Operator – 2nd Shift
Job Title: EDM Operator – 2nd Shift Department: EDM Reports To: EDM Department Lead FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Work Schedule: 2nd Shift, Full-Time (Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM). Overtime as required.
Position Summary
The EDM Operator supports production by operating and monitoring EDM machines used to produce precision medical device components. This role focuses on keeping machines running, performing basic inspections, and ensuring parts meet customer and quality requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 1–2 years of CNC or machine operation experience.
· Ability to read basic engineering drawings.
· Experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
· Strong attention to detail and reliability.
· Ability to follow job travelers and work instructions.
Preferred:
· Experience operating EDM equipment.
· Experience with Mitsubishi EDM machines.
· Experience in medical or regulated manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Machine Operation
· Operate EDM machines per job travelers and instructions.
· Load/unload materials and monitor machine cycles.
· Keep machines running efficiently during the shift.
· Notify supervisors of machine or production issues.
Inspection and Quality
· Perform basic in-process inspections.
· Record measurements and production data.
· Identify and report quality concerns.
Equipment and Work Area
· Maintain clean and organized work areas.
· Perform routine cleaning and report maintenance needs.
· Follow all safety and PPE requirements.
Additional Duties
· Follow company policies and quality requirements.
· Support production priorities and perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for extended periods.
· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
· Required use of PPE includes safety glasses and hearing protection.
