Driver Manager 2nd Shift Full Time NEW

This position is Monday-Friday 2:00PM-10:00PM

Position Summary

The 2nd shift Driver Manager is Responsible for the following:

• Monitoring, tracking and dispatching all direct report drivers
• Maintain accurate data in the driver communication device
• Accurate mileage
• Alignment of all start and stop locations
• Maintain X-calls from drivers with all accuracy
• Manage Drivers ETA’s, PTA’s, PTA’s and RTA’s
• Handle payroll inquiries and work to resolve issues for Drivers
• Establish and maintaining a positive and productive work relationship with Drivers
• Keep track of driver routes
• Contact customer service when detentions occur and work to keep drivers moving, not sitting
• Monitor the number of hours each driver has in to avoid out-of-hours violations
• Avoid situations when a Driver needs to
• Maintain timely, accurate and courteous customer service with internal customers and external customers
• Resolve issues as they occur, work with team members when uncertain of the correct resolution, and take matters to the customer to provide a solution along with the situation
• Coordinate load assignments for Drivers with planners
• Job dedication; work scheduled hours, arrive on time and leave when the work is complete
• Attention to details
• Tack down missing paperwork
• Provide disciplinary actions to Drivers when needed
• Be part of a team that works to maintain Driver and avoid Driver turn-over
• Answer incoming telephone calls and evaluate/direct calls to appropriate personnel;
• Follow all company safety, regulatory and compliance policies
• Must work well in a team environment
• Demonstrate knowledge through clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Manage time effectively and meet all specified deadlines
• Adapt to change positively

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The individual is expected to provide supervision to Drivers. As a leader in the organization the individual may need to provide general direction to other employees at times.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED/HSED with a minimum of one year related experience

Knowledge of DOT regulations
