Position Overview

The Director of Programs will provide strategic leadership and oversight for a growing portfolio of national education, advocacy, and research initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role ensures programs are thoughtfully designed, effectively implemented, and meaningfully evaluated to advance mission impact. Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic planning, development, and evaluation of education, advocacy, and research-focused programs
• Oversee implementation of patient and caregiver initiatives as well as clinical and research-facing programming
• Guide planning and execution of a national annual symposium in partnership with medical and volunteer leaders
• Supervise program staff and interns, fostering a supportive and inclusive team culture
• Develop and monitor program budgets, policies, and operational best practices
• Measure program outcomes, analyze impact data, and prepare reports for leadership, funders, and stakeholders

Qualifications

• Experience leading and growing mission-driven programs within a nonprofit or healthcare-related setting
• Demonstrated success in program strategy, implementation, and impact evaluation
• Strong relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders including community partners and medical professionals
• Comfort working with data, reporting outcomes, and supporting grant compliance
• Passion for advancing patient advocacy, research awareness, and health equity initiatives

Compensation And Benefits

This part-time contractual role offers competitive hourly compensation of $42 per hour, with opportunity for renewal and potential rate increase based on organizational growth and mutual agreement. The position provides a flexible 20–25 hour per week schedule in a fully remote environment, allowing for strong work-life balance. Occasional travel may be supported as needed.
