(And we’re hoping it’s you.)
Where: Greater Portland Area (out in the field, not chained to a desk)
What: Full-time
Compensation: $70,000 base salary, plus performance-based bonus of up to $20,000 annually
First, hi.
We’re Whole Body Health PT, an orthopedic physical therapy practice that believes people deserve care that actually listens to them. We’re part of a small group of family-owned PT practices in the Portland area, which means we’re big enough to invest in doing things right and small enough that your work will actually show.
We’re growing. More patients are finding us. More providers are sending people our way. Which is exactly why we need someone like you.
The role, in plain English.
You’ll lead how we grow. In practical terms: more people calling to book appointments, more doctors sending patients our way, more of the community knowing we exist.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll build the plan, lead the team, and still show up at the Lunch and Learn with good coffee and better questions.
You’re the person who brings structure where there’s none and follow-through where it’s been fuzzy. You’ll shape where we go next, and make sure we actually get there.
Why you might love this.
Growth matters here. Not in a corporate-values-poster way, but in a we-built-this-role-because-it-genuinely-matters way. You’ll shape how we grow and how many more people get access to life-changing PT care because of your work.
That last part matters. The new patients you help us reach aren’t numbers on a dashboard. They’re someone recovering from surgery the right way. Someone who stopped hurting because they found us.
What you’ll actually do.Lead the strategy (and the doing).
• Own how we grow, with clear accountability for new patient growth
• Build the plan across doctors, community partners, and direct-to-consumer efforts
• Spot the priority markets and high-value referral partners, and point us there
• Help extend our presence into new and growing areas
• Partner with our internal team on campaigns and messaging
Run a team that gets things done.
• Lead a weekly meeting that’s actually useful
• Work side-by-side with clinic directors on local execution
• Manage the team with clear expectations, steady support, and honest feedback
• Recommend hires as we grow
Build real relationships.
• Be the face of WBHPT with doctors, community organizations, and partners (the kind who actually return your calls)
• Show up at Lunch and Learns, open houses, grand openings, and networking events
• Own the long-term value of our most important partnerships
Build systems that scale.
• Put the scaffolding in place (workflows, reporting, accountability structures) that’ll hold up when we double in size
• Make the CRM a real tool, not a guilty afterthought
• Use data to course-correct and keep leadership in the loop, clearly and honestly, without 14-page decks
What success looks like.
A year from now, if this is working:
• New patient growth is visible in the numbers
• The team knows what’s expected and delivers
• We know which partners and markets matter most, and we’re pointed at them
• You’ve built real relationships where we didn’t have them before
• You’ve already moved the needle somewhere real
Who we’re hoping to meet.
You’ll need:
• Experience owning business development, sales, or growth outcomes (emphasis on owning)
• A track record of building the unglamorous scaffolding (systems, reporting, KPIs) that makes teams work
• Experience leading people, whether as a manager or player-coach
• Strategic thinking paired with a willingness to execute hands-on
• Strong follow-through, the kind that makes colleagues exhale
• Genuine comfort-building relationships and representing a brand in the community
Nice to have:
• Healthcare business development, provider relations, or related experience
• Time spent in a referral-driven environment
• Familiarity with physical therapy or rehab
Non-negotiables:
• You’re genuinely willing to be out in the field. This is not a remote role.
• You can travel locally on a regular basis and have reliable transportation
• You’ll use the CRM like someone who respects their future self
• You’re comfortable representing us at community events (bonus points if you enjoy it)
Is this you?
This role fits if you’re:
• A doer, not just a talker
• Someone who builds structure instead of waiting for it
• A leader who leads and still does the work
• Motivated by measurable growth and real accountability
If you read this far and thought “that sounds like me,” we’d love to hear from you!
