JOB DESCRIPTION:

TaxAct is seeking a highly analytical and intellectually curious professional for our Data Scientist – Revenue Analytics role to join our Data Analytics organization. Reporting to the Director of Data Analytics, this role will help shape product, marketing, and revenue strategy through advanced analytics, data science, and quantitative modeling.

This position blends data science, revenue analytics, and business strategy in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. The ideal candidate enjoys solving ambiguous business problems, translating data into actionable insights, and partnering with stakeholders across the organization to drive measurable business impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and refine predictive models, analytical frameworks, and optimization strategies aimed at improving revenue performance and business outcomes.
• Apply data science and advanced analytics techniques to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable business insights.
• Partner with analytics, product, marketing, and business stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement analytical models and solutions in production environments aligned with business objectives.
• Analyze the impact and performance of implemented models, generating insights and recommendations to improve future strategies.
• Support experimentation, forecasting, and strategic analytics initiatives across the organization.
• Create business cases outlining expected impact, value, and prioritization of analytical projects.
• Utilize SQL, Python, R, Tableau, and related tools to analyze large datasets and communicate insights effectively.
• Prepare and present analytical findings, recommendations, and business insights to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Contribute to a collaborative analytics culture with a proactive, problem-solving mindset and strong intellectual curiosity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree preferred in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Equivalent practical experience and strong analytical foundations will also be considered.
• Strong foundation in data science, analytics, statistics, and quantitative problem solving.
• Hands-on experience building analytical or predictive models using Python and/or R.
• Experience working with SQL and large structured or semi-structured datasets.
• Experience developing dashboards, visualizations, or analytical reporting solutions using tools such as Tableau.
• Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
