Crisis Intervener – for Extended School Year Programs Full Time NEW

LOCATION OF POSITIONS: Fairport NY 14450; Safety and Security Department, Central Campus and Bird/Morgan

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: July 9, 2026 – August 19, 2026. Hours vary by location. For all BOCES Programs Pre and Post summer trainings and set-up as directed.

Mandatory Summer Set-Up Meetings

June 2nd = Transition/Employment

June 3rd = O’Connor Academy, eStart, Creekside (BPA Unit + TES Staff)

June 10th = Creekside (BUP Unit), Bird/Morgan

SALARY RANGE: $21.73 – $34.01 per hour (or higher pending contract negotiations) or your 2026-27 rate in this title for current Monroe One Boces staff

• Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.

Duties

• Provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Positively interact with students and staff consistently.
• Effectively use verbal and non-verbal communication skills and behavior support techniques to help manage aggressive behavior and defuse students in crisis.
• Work collaboratively with team members to effectively support all students in program assignments.
• Attend Train the Trainer sessions to keep current on behavior management.
• Train staff on techniques to support student behaviors.
• Attend team meetings when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or possession of a High School equivalency diploma; Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling/Mental Health/Psychology or related field preferred.
• TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) training required.
• Experience with Students with Disabilities required; experience with autistic students preferred.
• Working knowledge of conflict resolution.
• Pro-active team player and problem solver.
• Thoughtful and intentional with a calm demeanor.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively use technology.
• Must be available for all 30 days of the summer program.
• Pysically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation.)
