CPA/Accounting Manager
Location: Abilene, Tx
Description:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented CPA to support and help build out the accounting and financial operations of a rapidly growing organization. This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, supporting compliance, and helping establish scalable processes as the company expands. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, and reconciliations
- Review and manage high-volume transaction activity, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations
- Manage and support tax preparation, filings, and coordination with external tax partners
- Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting systems
- Reconcile complex data sets, including high-volume operational inputs and transaction records
- Partner with operations leadership to provide financial insights and support decision-making
- Assist in building and scaling the accounting infrastructure to support company growth
- Support audits and ensure proper documentation and internal controls are maintained
Qualifications:
- Active CPA license required
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth or operational environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience managing high-volume transactions and reconciliations
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in construction, logistics, or project-based industries
- Background supporting companies with rapid growth or startup environments
- Experience with ERP systems and process implementation
- Familiarity with job costing, project accounting, or cost tracking
- Experience working with large data sets or operational reconciliation
