Corporate Staff Accountant Full Time

Reports to: Corporate Accounting Manager

Job Summary:

The Corporate Staff Accountant is responsible for performing account reconciliations, posting journal entries, and assisting with month-end close activities across multiple entities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare and post recurring and monthly accrual journal entries (e.g., prepaid expense amortization, payroll-related accruals, and other period-end adjustments) across multiple entities
• Assist with month-end close activities, including meeting deadlines, following close checklists, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to obtain required support
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation (e.g., cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and other assigned accounts)
• Review general ledger activity to validate account coding and identify unusual items; research variances and propose correcting entries when needed
• Maintain Excel schedules/sub-ledgers used for month-end close across entities (e.g., roll-forwards, accrual support, and reconciliation tie-outs)
• Support multi-entity accounting processes, including preparing and reconciling intercompany or due to/due from activity, as assigned
• Provide assistance to accounts payable and accounts receivable staff by helping research discrepancies, obtaining supporting documentation, and ensuring timely resolution of open items
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions/disposals documentation and calculating and recording monthly depreciation
• Prepare support for internal management reporting and external reporting requests, including compiling schedules as needed
• Support year-end audit and tax preparation by assembling requested documentation, responding to information requests, and assisting with audit/tax schedules
• Maintain accurate records and follow internal controls and accounting policies; identify process improvement opportunities and communicate issues to the Corporate Accounting Manager

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

Work Experience:

Previous work experience in non-profit or financial services accounting is a plus. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills and can prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with individuals across multiple departments. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge (or a similar accounting system) is a plus.
