Copy Editor/Proofreader Full Time NEW

Our client, a telecommunications company in New York, is seeking an experienced Copyeditor/Proofreader to join their freelance bench, supporting the team on an as-needed basis. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a flexible, project-based environment and can step in quickly to ensure high-quality, polished content. Workload may vary month to month, with typical utilization averaging around 5 days per month, and occasional increases depending on business needs.

• Type: Freelance / contract (bench role)
• Schedule: As needed; may vary month to month
• Location: Remote
• Hourly rate: $30ph

Responsibilities:

• Review and edit content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and clarity
• Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and brand standards
• Proofread final deliverables for accuracy before publication or distribution
• Check content for formatting, layout, and style guide adherence
• Collaborate with writers, designers, and project teams to maintain quality
• Provide light rewrites or suggestions to improve readability when needed
• Manage multiple assignments with quick turnaround times

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in copyediting and/or proofreading
• Experience in a creative agency, studio, or in-house brand team
• Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, or content management systems
• Knowledge of AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or similar guides
