Both roles work closely with cross‑functional teams, but the focus areas are very different — one is pure contracts administration, and the other is contract negotiation + vendor management.
1️⃣ Contracts Administrator (Company A)
Focus: Contract management, tracking, compliance, and vendor onboarding
Perfect for: Someone who is organized, detail‑driven, and loves keeping processes tight and accurate
What you’ll own:
• Day‑to‑day contract administration across MSAs, NDAs, leases, POs, and vendor agreements
• Coordinating contract review between internal teams and third parties
• Tracking key terms, obligations, expirations, renewals, and notices
• Maintaining documentation and data in Cobblestone
• Managing vendor onboarding and partnering with Accounting/Operations
• Overseeing incoming/outgoing Certificates of Insurance
• Supporting process improvements and system optimization
• Assisting with corporate entity data and internal reporting
• Leveraging AI tools to streamline contract workflows
Ideal background: 5+ years in contract administration, strong organizational skills, systems‑savvy, proactive, and comfortable working cross‑functionally.
2️⃣ Contracts Specialist – Negotiation Focus (Company B)
Focus: Negotiating terms, coordinating with counterparties, and supporting business‑driven contract decisions
Perfect for: Someone who enjoys being closer to the business, negotiating terms, and balancing risk with practical solutions
What you’ll own:
• Negotiating Purchase & Sale terms, Services Agreements, and Independent Contractor Agreements
• Coordinating with internal teams and external counterparties during negotiations
• Tracking performance, compliance, deadlines, and renewals
• Developing insurance requirements by contract type
• Maintaining the contract database and supporting ongoing improvements
• Monitoring contract performance and ensuring obligations are met
Ideal background:
Experience negotiating agreements, strong communication skills, ability to manage competing priorities, and comfort working with multiple stakeholders.
Shared Requirements Across Both Roles
• 5+ years of contract‑related experience
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Cobblestone experience is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
