Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Construction Administrator to support the design and construction of the VA Medical Center project in San Juan, Puerto Rico. As a Construction Administrator, you will manage the construction process, ensuring all work aligns with the project’s specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the construction site, including coordinating with contractors, reviewing submittals, and tracking project progress. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining quality control, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with building codes, ultimately supporting the successful completion of the project.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure proper work synchronization.
Serve as the liaison between the client and contractors for RFIs, drawings, and submittals.
Review and analyze construction costs and project schedules.
Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and quality, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Oversee and manage the Quality Assurance program, ensuring adherence to project plans and regulatory requirements.
Review contractor work for deficiencies and propose corrective actions when necessary.
Provide guidance and technical assistance during pre-construction and construction meetings.
Assist in managing project budgets and tracking costs related to construction activities.
Monitor safety practices on-site to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
Ensure all construction activities comply with building codes and project specifications.
Track and report on construction progress, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
Review contractor submittals and ensure they align with design and operational needs.
Manage and resolve issues related to construction activities, providing timely solutions.
Coordinate with other project teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of systems and operations.
Prepare and maintain documentation for all construction-related activities and decisions.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
Must possess an engineering degree from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 10 years of construction experience, preferably in large-scale or medical facility projects.
Strong working knowledge of construction practices and project management processes.
Experience in monitoring construction quality and identifying issues in contractor work.
Proven ability to analyze and interpret project schedules, costs, and specifications.
Completion of the OSHA 10-hour Safety Training Class.
Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
