Overview of the Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Technology Officer to lead the technical vision and strategy of a company developing mission-critical AI and software systems that shape the future of security, infrastructure, and enterprise decision-making. As CTO, you will be responsible for architecting technology platforms that combine cutting-edge research, massive-scale data systems, and secure deployment in the most demanding environments.

You will oversee engineering groups of world-class engineers and researchers, guide product development across AI/ML, cloud-native technology platforms, and distributed systems, and ensure our technology is resilient, scalable, and trusted by governments, enterprises, and organizations worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Define Technical Vision: Set the company’s technology strategy at the intersection of AI, defense, and enterprise technology platforms, ensuring both near-term impact and long-term innovation.
• Architect Next-Generation Systems: Oversee the design of secure, distributed, high-performance technology platforms for AI-driven decision-making, simulation, and automation.
• Guide World-Class Teams: Recruit, mentor, and inspire top engineers, researchers, and technical leaders across multiple disciplines.
• Advance AI & ML Integration: Drive applied AI research into production, including generative AI, computer vision, autonomy, and predictive modeling.
• Ensure Security & Trust: Build technology that meets the highest standards of cybersecurity, reliability, and compliance in high-stakes environments.
• Partner Across the Organization: Work closely with the CEO, product, and operations leaders to align technology investments with strategic objectives and customer needs.
• Represent Technology Externally: Serve as a thought leader in AI and advanced technology, representing the company to partners, governments, enterprises, and the broader tech community.

Experience and Background

• Proven Guideership: 15+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, including success scaling technology organizations to global impact.
• Technical Depth: Background in distributed systems, AI/ML, or high-performance computing, with hands-on engineering experience earlier in your career.
• Strategic Vision: Ability to define long-term technical roadmaps and translate them into actionable, high-impact execution.
• Operational Excellence: Experience delivering secure, scalable, and mission-critical products in defense, government, or enterprise domains.
• Collaborative Influence: Track record of developing partnerships across executive engineering groups, customers, and external stakeholders.
• Inspiring Guideership: Ability to attract, grow, and retain top technical talent while fostering a culture of innovation, integrity, and urgency.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; PhD a plus.
