We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Charge Entry Specialist for Physical and Occupational therapy to join our dynamic healthcare team. Your expertise in medical coding, medical terminology, and understanding of various coding systems will be essential to accurately translate clinical services into billable charges. Responsibilities

• Accurately input charges into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and billing systems, ensuring all data is complete and precise
• Review medical records and documentation to verify the correct application of CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes for billing purposes
• Collaborate with medical coders and billers to resolve discrepancies or issues related to charge entries
• Maintain detailed records of all charge entries, edits, and adjustments for audit purposes
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and coding guidelines during the charge entry process
• Assist in updating and maintaining accurate patient demographic information within the system
• Support the collection of outstanding payments by verifying insurance coverage and processing initial claims

Qualifications

• Proven experience in therapy coding, charge entry, or medical billing within a healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10 coding systems, DRG classifications, and medical terminology
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for clinical documentation and billing processes
• Understanding of medical records management and healthcare compliance standards
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify errors or inconsistencies in clinical documentation or charges
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
