Carpenter – Multifamily Construction Full Time NEW

SRM is seeking a dependable and skilled Carpenter with strong framing experience to join our construction team. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work collaboratively on active, occupied multifamily construction sites while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This position typically works Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional Saturday work as needed.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform framing work
• Assist with light demolition as needed
• Read and interpret construction plans and drawings
• Operate equipment such as forklifts and aerial lifts; work safely at heights (e.g., scaffolding)
• Coordinate daily tasks and support subcontractor activities
• Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and residents in occupied buildings
• Identify job site issues and assist in problem-solving and resolution
• Maintain job site safety, including setting up protocols and assisting with enforcement
• Support quality control by monitoring subcontractor work and ensuring standards are met
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and assist in enforcing site cleanliness
• Perform general labor tasks as needed (e.g., shoveling, sweeping, fencing)
• Other tasks as directed by Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of framing experience
• Ability to read and understand construction plans
• Comfortable working in occupied buildings and interacting with residents
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow direction
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience working on multifamily construction projects
• Millwork installation
• Cabinet installation
• Drywall installation/repair
• Door and hardware installation

Physical Requirements: This is a field-based role on active construction sites. This position requires frequent walking, standing, kneeling, bending, climbing, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
