Full Job Description
Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County is accepting resumes for the position of Building Code Official Trainee. The Township will provide on-the-job training with the current Building Code Official until his retirement in December of 2027. The selected candidate will shadow and train with the staff while studying and testing to become the next Building Code Official and Residential Building Inspector.
Requirements:
– Strong knowledge of the PA Construction Code with a construction background preferred.
– Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex regulations.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Professional demeanor and the ability to work independently.
– Ability to study, test, and obtain PA Uniform Construction Code Building Code Official Certification, and initially Residential Building Inspector. Continued testing and certification in all residential and commercial categories for PA Uniform Construction Code plan reviews and inspections required.
– Building Code Official certification and Residential Building Inspector Certification preferred at time of hire, but not required.
– PA Drivers License and good driving record.
