BICSI Technician – Travel – CONUS & OCONUS- Okinawa Japan Full Time NEW

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
AllCom is hiring experienced BICSI Technicians. Technicians should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in installation, terminating and testing copper and fiber; Cat 5, Iron Work. Installation of cabinets, equipment, and racking. Technicians at AllCom perform a variety of activities associated with onsite installation of telecommunication infrastructure. Working as a team, tasks and duties are assigned by the Project Manager or Site Manager. Must be able to work with minimal on-site supervision. Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to read, write, understand, and follow procedures. Must be able to interpret design drawings.
Technicians at AllCom travel from project to project as assigned [100% travel]. Some opportunities may exist for project-specific employment.

 

job duties and Responsibilities

  1. Complete tasks required for end-to-end system installation and testing.  Duties and responsibilities will vary based on project type, scope, duration and manpower assignments.
  2. Ability to stoop, kneel or crouch
  3. Must be able to climb ladders
  4. Must be able to lift 50 pounds or carry 35 pounds
  5. General tasks and duties as assigned by Site Managers
  6. Ability to stoop, kneel or crouch
  7. Must be able to climb ladders up to 25 feet and work on lifts up to 40 feet
  8. Must be able to lift or carry loads up to 50 pounds

job knowledge AND skills

  1. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in the construction and/or telecommunications installation field.
  2. Relies on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish tasks
  3. Work under general supervision and may provide direction or assistance to other technicians
  4. 3 plus years of telecommunication infrastructure installation experience required
  5. BICSI Technician, additional certifications and related experience a plus
  6. OSHA certification a plus

education/certification/job experience required
  1. High school diploma or its equivalent
  2. Must have a current, valid driver’s license
  3. Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (drug and background) and have a valid driver’s license
  4. Ability to secure and maintain Department of Defense Secret Clearance
  5. Ability to travel out of town 100% of the time
