Basic Needs Coordinator Full Time

As the Basic Needs Coordinator, applicants contribute directly to the success of the UVU CARE Hub’s food programs, including the Food Pantry, Mobile Food Pantry, Gleaning Program, and Volunteer Program. The position combines program operations, data tracking, and community partnership development, allowing individuals to see how their work supports food security and student success across campus.

Summary Of Responsibilities

• Food Pantry Operations Management: Oversee daily operations of the UVU Food Pantry, ensuring it is stocked, clean, and well-organized. Manage inventory, including ordering food, receiving donations, and coordinating food pickups from community partners. Oversee online pantry orders and ensure efficient fulfillment. Ensure compliance with food safety and distribution guidelines.
• Mobile Food Pantry Program Management: Drive the CARE Hub van to distribute food to UVU satellite campuses. Build and maintain relationships with satellite campuses to assess and meet their needs. Schedule and coordinate mobile pantry visits in collaboration with campus stakeholders.
• Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate records and data related to pantry operations, gleaning efforts, volunteer hours, and program services. Track inventory, distribution, and client usage trends to inform program improvements. Assist in compiling reports for internal assessments and external stakeholders.
• Additional Responsibilities: Perform occasional front desk duties to support the CARE Hub’s general operations. Provide excellent customer service to pantry users, students, and community partners. Assist with CARE Hub events and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

• Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree plus one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties; OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a large van.
• Must be 21 years or older due to University Driving restrictions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in basic needs programs, program management, and customer service, with prior experience working with volunteers or community programs preferred.

• Understanding of food insecurity resources and basic needs programming.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and distribution procedures.
• Knowledge of community engagement and volunteer management best practices.

• Proficiency in data tracking, reporting, and using basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite).

Abilities

• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, maintain confidentiality of records and information, work independently with minimum supervision, experience with Microsoft Office programs, follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
