Answer Financial is seeking an Automation Test Engineer (SDET) to help drive quality, reliability, and speed across our digital platforms. This is a hands-on, engineering-focused role where you will design, build, and evolve test automation solutions that integrate directly into modern CI/CD pipelines.
You will act as a quality champion on the team, partnering closely with software engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure quality is built in from design through production. This position is a full-time, 100% remote role and offers the opportunity to influence quality practices at scale in a regulated, enterprise environment.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications, APIs, and backend services
- Build scalable automation for functional, regression, and integration testing
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable releases
- Treat test automation as production-grade software that is versioned, reviewed, monitored, and maintained
- Define and evolve test strategy for medium-to-high complexity initiatives
- Partner with engineering and product teams in an Agile environment
- Mentor engineers and testers on automation and quality best practices

Education And Experience
- 3+ years of experience in test automation, SDET, or quality engineering roles
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C# (or equivalent)
- Experience with test automation frameworks, such as: Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress (or equivalent)
- Experience testing web applications and APIs
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration
- Experience working in Agile development environments (Jira, Version One, Rally or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence without formal authority
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Newman preferred
- Exposure to performance or load testing preferred
- Experience with Git and modern build systems preferred
- Familiarity with cloud-based test environments preferred
- Experience with BDD or TDD practices preferred
- Background in regulated or large enterprise environments preferred
- Utilizing AI to increase operational efficiencies preferred

- Defects are detected earlier in the development lifecycle
- Quality standards are consistently applied across teams

Compensation
- Compensation offered for this role is 80,000.00-135,000.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
