Summary
The Assistant Controller supports daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and analysis. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for Condo Associations
- Manage asset replacement reserve study
- Support payroll processing as needed
- Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
- Perform audits, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Complete tax filings and rental reports
- Track capital projects and maintain depreciation schedules
- Attend and record Finance Committee meetings
Additional Duties
- Support annual audits and inventory counts
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Prepare reports and assist with special projects
Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (including double-entry)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with computerized accounting systems
- Hospitality accounting experience preferred
