Assistant City Manager – Employment Opportunity Full Time

The City of Sugar Hill, Georgia, one of the fastest growing and progressive cities in the metro Atlanta area, is seeking an assistant city manager that is motivated by development opportunities and delivery of public works services. With a population of nearly 30,000 residents, it is home to world-class venues such as the award-winning Bowl Amphitheatre, Eagle Theatre and E Center, as well as a highly acclaimed municipal golf course, passive and active parks and greenspace, and a growing pedestrian Greenway (currently with 7 miles completed).

Under the direction of the City Manager, the assistant city manager is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of the various city departments and acting for the City Manager when the City Manager is on official business away from City Hall.

This position serves as a liaison with all operational departments and units and helps direct cross-departmental coordination for the delivery of high-quality services, customer service, and events that enhance the city’s brand image.

The minimum requirements are knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to Public Administration, management, city planning, business, engineering, economics, or community or economic development; Master’s Degree preferred; three (3) to five (5) years of progressively higher experience in local government management or community and economic development and management; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted. A valid State of Georgia Driver’s license is required.
