Asheville General Manager – Hi-Wire Brewing Full Time

Hi-Wire has 7 taprooms located across NC and TN, and distribution to 8 states (NC, SC, TN, KY, OH, GA, AL, and VA). Position Description

The General Manager at Hi-Wire Brewing is responsible for cultivating and managing a cohesive team that shares a common vision of delivering an exceptional experience to every guest who walks through the door. This position is directly responsible for our River Arts (RAD) Campus and Big Top Taprooms. The individual in this position is able to successfully oversee daily operations of the taprooms, drive business forward in line with company goals and contribute significantly to strategic and financial planning. Performance is tracked via quarterly KPIs and yearly performance reviews. This position reports to the Regional Manager of Taprooms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all areas of the taproom, including hiring, developing and managing the performance of employees, maintenance, and inventory
• Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
• Serve as point person for daily decision making, scheduling, and planning, while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness
• Maintain physical taproom space, ensuring maintenance (both ongoing and emergency) are completed in a timely manner and within allotted budget
• Prepare schedules and ensure that the taproom is staffed for all shifts, filling in as needed
• Investigate and resolve complaints concerning beer quality and/or service
• Keep Supervisor promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance, positive events) and take prompt corrective action or suggest alternate courses of action, where necessary
• Be involved with the local community, attending neighborhood business meetings, participating in community events and fostering goodwill between the taproom and the community at large
• Manage taproom inventory, placing orders for beer, merchandise, and other supplies as needed
• Ensure money is handled responsibly, including making regular bank deposits and procuring sufficient change for taproom transactions
• Be fully knowledgeable of and adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
• Take a leadership role in events, effectively planning, scheduling, and preparing for events to ensure success
• Effectively communicate with the marketing team, in a timely and efficient manner, to ensure proper advertising for taproom events
• Be present for team meetings as requested
• Manage taproom social media accounts in collaboration with the marketing team, and support broader marketing efforts as directed, including templated assets and capturing photography
• Complete other tasks as assigned, staying within provided budgets and time frames

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in the service industry
• Preferred front-of-house management experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to multitask while maintaining a calm demeanor
• Proficiency in applicable operations management systems
• A team player with leadership skills
• Exceptional multitasking/prioritizing skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Independent/self motivated
• Problem solver with grace under pressure

• A flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends
• Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to continually lift 65 pounds
• Must have the ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel and crouch
• The ability to work near moving parts and machinery
• The ability to work in loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor and outdoor environments frequently
