Role Description

The AI Engineering Intern role at DigitSec is an internship remote position. The intern will support the design, development, and testing of AI and machine learning features that enhance the DigitSec security platform, including models for vulnerability detection, classification, and prioritization. Day-to-day tasks may include data preprocessing, building and evaluating models, implementing proof-of-concept solutions, and assisting in integrating AI components into existing services and workflows. The intern will collaborate closely with software engineers, security experts, and product team members to translate security requirements into technical solutions, document experiments, and present findings to the broader team. This role also involves participating in code reviews, maintaining clean and reliable code, and contributing to continuous improvement of the AI tooling and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Foundational programming skills in languages commonly used for AI and backend development (such as Python, Java, or similar), with the ability to write clean, testable code.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts (such as supervised learning, model training, evaluation, and feature engineering) and familiarity with common ML frameworks or libraries (for example TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn).
• Evaluate and compare model’s efficacy and fine tuning.
• Ability to work with fine tuning and creating the right context for a model task.
• Experience or coursework in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles, including version control tools (such as Git) and collaborative development practices.
• Interest in or exposure to cybersecurity, SaaS platforms, or secure software development, with willingness to learn about application security and Salesforce ecosystems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master or PHD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document work clearly and present technical findings to Engineering Teams and Leadership.
• Cyber security exposure and experience preferred.
