Admissions Specialist
Location: Manhattan, NY (100% Onsite)

About the Role
The New York School of Design (NYSD) is seeking a vibrant and detail-oriented Admissions Specialist to join our onsite team in Mid-Town Manhattan. You will be the primary point of contact for aspiring designers, helping them navigate the journey from “interested inquirer” to “enrolled student.” This is not a “behind-the-desk-only” job; you will be the face of our campus, leading tours and inspiring the next generation of creative talent.
What You’ll Do
- Guide prospective students through the full enrollment process, answering FAQs, and managing marketing mailings
- Schedule and conduct onsite and virtual interviews and assist in creative portfolio reviews.
- Host “Campus Walkthroughs” for prospective students and their families.
- Make data entry of applications and maintain accurate students records within HubSpot.
- Travel to local high schools and college fairs, conduct initial interviews, and assist in reviewing application files.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (bachelor’s degree in administration or communications preferred).
- Experience: Previous experience in student admissions, recruiting and high-end customer service.
- Skills: Exceptional verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Tech skills: Proficiency with Microsoft suite, CRM, and social media tools
- Mindset: A passion for education and helping students achieve their academic and career goals.
- Licensing and Training: NYSD provides training for this role. Upon hire, the candidate must be approved by the NYSED BPSS and successfully obtain a School Agent Certificate issued by the New York State Education Department.
