SALARY: The salary range for this position is $49,059.79 to $77,331.24 for Schedule A, and $49,059.79 to $73,464.67 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. Example of Duties
The Ocean Vicinage Information Technology Division is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed Administrative Specialist 1 to support the operational and administrative functions of the IT Division. Under the general direction of the IT Division Manager and Assistant IT Division Manager, this individual will perform a variety of paraprofessional administrative duties and serve as a key support resource to IT staff and Vicinage users. Responsibilities include providing administrative support to division leadership and staff; coordinating and scheduling meetings, training, and events; preparing and maintaining correspondence, reports, and documentation; and assisting with calendar management and tracking divisional activities. The selected candidate will maintain IT equipment inventory, assist with audits and data validation, coordinate equipment surplus and secure hard drive disposal, and ensure compliance with Judiciary policies and procedures. This role will also support data management efforts by creating and maintaining spreadsheets and tracking systems, compiling information for reports, and identifying discrepancies. In addition, the individual will provide basic technology guidance to users, develop and update instructional documentation, and assess existing materials for accuracy and effectiveness. Responsibilities further include updating Vicinage digital signage, assisting with internal communications, evaluating administrative workflows for process improvement, and serving as a liaison between IT and other divisions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service while performing other duties as required to support the mission of the IT Division.
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications
Three years of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments.
Ability to use a keyboard, no minimum speed.
Supplemental Information
Physical Ability: For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching to perform the essential duties of the position. For some positions, the selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds, in order to perform essential duties of the position.
Driver’s License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the “New Jersey First Act,” all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
