About The Role

As an Accountant within our Property Management Client Accounting team, you will play a vital role in managing the full-cycle accounting processes for a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate properties. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, either remotely or at our regional hubs in Pittsburgh or Denver. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, ensuring accurate recording of transactions, and collaborating closely with property managers and clients to deliver timely and precise financial reporting. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Experience with computerized accounting systems such as Yardi and/or MRI is a plus but not required
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Customer service-oriented mindset
• Ability to analyze, problem-solve, and pay close attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a focus on accuracy and compliance

Responsibilities

• Prepare all aspects of the financial statement package for a portfolio of commercial properties, including creating and posting journal entries and reviewing general ledger entries
• Partner with property managers to ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of financial reports
• Ensure all expenses, receipts, distributions, funding requests, and other transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled
• Review and audit financial information to verify compliance with established procedures and accounting standards
• Respond to and resolve queries from management teams and clients promptly and effectively
• Follow internal policies and procedures to meet internal and external reporting requirements
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities for assigned property portfolios
• Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting-related inquiries from clients and property managers
