About The Role

The Entry-Level Staff Accountant position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to develop foundational skills in accounting, auditing, and taxation within a reputable firm. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for applying accounting principles and practices to real-world client scenarios, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This role is designed to foster professional growth by providing hands-on experience in various accounting functions, including preparing financial statements, conducting audits, and assisting with tax filings. The Staff Accountant will work closely with senior team members, participating in industry training, professional development activities, and client interactions. The position also involves traveling to client sites, primarily within Western New York, to deliver personalized service and support. This role is ideal for individuals committed to pursuing their CPA certification and eager to build a career in public accounting, with opportunities to advance within the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited 150-hour Accounting Degree Program, MS in Accounting, or MBA with a concentration in Accounting
• Meet the educational coursework requirement for the NYS 150-hour CPA licensure prior to full-time employment
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Willingness to travel to client locations, primarily in Western New York
• A proactive team player with a commitment to professional growth

Responsibilities

• Perform various accounting, auditing, and tax practices to ensure data accuracy and client satisfaction
• Assist in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and audit reports
• Develop technical knowledge in accounting and auditing through training, presentations, and professional reading
• Identify opportunities for industry and technical expertise development
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality service and meet client deadlines
• Travel to client sites to gather information, review processes, and provide support
