UPI Global Ingredients (UPI) is a supplier of natural ingredients and chemicals to the Personal Care, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Veterinary, Health & Nutrition, Flavor & Fragrance, HI&I, Ag & Feed, and Industrial trades.

Position Summary

The Account Manager is a results-oriented sales hunter responsible for accelerating revenue growth and expanding UPI Global Ingredients’ market footprint across target industries. This role drives new business through aggressive prospecting, competitive selling, and strategic territory development while managing and growing key accounts. The ideal candidate thrives on uncovering opportunities, winning new customers, and converting leads into long-term partnerships. As the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, the Account Manager ensures exceptional service, regulatory compliance, and consistent achievement of sales objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify and penetrate new markets, industries, and geographic territories to drive revenue growth.
• Conduct cold calling, prospecting, and networking to generate new business opportunities.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans to win business from competitors and convert prospects into long-term customers.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads using CRM tools.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with a focus on profitability and margin improvement.
• Perform market research to track industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging customer needs within the chemical sector.
• Collaborate with price support and internal teams to ensure product availability and competitive sourcing.
• Communicate technical product specifications, applications, and safety requirements to customers.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards related to chemical handling and distribution.
• Partner with internal technical teams to deliver solution-based selling and customized offerings.
• Drive growth in high-margin and strategic product lines.
• Track and report key performance metrics, including new account acquisition, revenue growth, and margins.
• Conduct regular in-person customer visits to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities.
• Identify and execute cross-selling and upselling opportunities within new and existing accounts.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, RFQs, and urgent requests to secure business.
• Manage territory planning, including travel scheduling and route optimization.
• Serve as the primary contact during onboarding of new customers to ensure a smooth transition.
• Maintain urgency and accountability in closing deals and advancing opportunities through the sales pipeline.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field
• Proven experience in sales, preferably within the chemical or industrial sector
