Our client, a leading technology organization, is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join their team. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be part of the hardware development department supporting the Surface device project. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Firmware Engineer
Location: Redmond, WA – Onsite
Pay Range: $47.84 – $51.55 on Experis W2 (Benefits/PTO/401k)
Top 3 Must-Have HARD Skills & years of experience for each:
Experience in debugging Windows devices – familiarity with Windows devices and usability issues
Software validation/testing – experience validating software, especially on hardware devices
Basic Computer Skills
What’s the Job?
- Design, develop, and implement firmware solutions for new Surface devices
- Contribute to software validation and testing on proprietary hardware
- Analyze system requirements and document specifications for firmware projects
- Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues during testing phases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware and software integration
What’s Needed?
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
- 0-2 years of experience in firmware or software development
- Familiarity with validation, Windows usability issues, and debugging tools
- Experience with troubleshooting and unit testing of systems
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design
