Summary

We are hiring a Drywall and Firestop Technician to inspect, install, and repair firestop and smoke-stop systems in hospitals and commercial buildings. This role supports life safety and code compliance and requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow tested systems, and experience working with drywall and rated assemblies. Work is performed above ceilings, in confined spaces, and in active healthcare and commercial environments.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect and repair fire/smoke barriers per NFPA, IBC, and UL requirements
• Install approved firestop and smoke-stop systems
• Read and interpret blueprints and life safety drawings
• Hang and repair drywall and wall assemblies (metal framing, gypsum, masonry)
• Document inspections and repairs using a tablet-based reporting system
• Provide accurate documentation for customer code compliance
• Use and maintain hand and power tools
• Follow safety and infection control procedures
• Travel as required for projects (Up to 50%)

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ year of firestop inspection, repair, and installation experience
• Experience with commercial drywall repair and installation
• Fire caulking experience
• Experience with life safety plans and NFPA standards
• Ability to use iOS devices and electronic reporting systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions
• Self‑motivated; able to work independently and as part of a team
• Hilti and/or STI certification preferred, not required

Physical Requirements

• Work above ceilings, on ladders, and in confined spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and extended hours as needed

Additional Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license
• Must pass drug screen, background check, and driver’s license check
