Shop/Grounds Associate Full Time NEW

We are seeking a reliable, multi-skilled Shop & Grounds Associate to support the daily operation and upkeep of our facility. This position requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable both outdoors performing grounds maintenance and in a shop environment performing light mechanical and technical work. A clean driving record is required, as local deliveries may be assigned.

Position Details

Key ResponsibilitiesGrounds & Facility Maintenance

• Mow, edge, and maintain all lawn and turf areas on the property on a regular schedule.
• Apply herbicides, pesticides, and insecticides as directed; follow all safety protocols for chemical handling and storage.
• Perform general grounds cleanup including debris removal, trash pickup, and maintaining a clean and presentable facility exterior.
• Perform facility maintenance tasks such as pressure washing, painting, and minor building repairs as needed.
• Inspect grounds regularly and report any safety hazards, damage, or maintenance concerns.

Shop & Mechanical Work

• Perform basic small engine maintenance and repairs on mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other power equipment.
• Assist with minor automobile, light vehicle, and trailer maintenance including fluid checks, tire changes, and basic inspections.
• Work with and maintain pumps and related equipment; perform routine checks, minor repairs, and replacements.
• Perform minor electrical work.
• Keep the shop area clean, organized, and safe; properly store tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Deliveries & Transportation

• Operate company vehicles to perform local deliveries of equipment, parts, or supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies.
• Perform pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicles and report any mechanical issues promptly.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with small engine repair and maintenance (mowers, trimmers, generators, pumps, etc.).
• Basic mechanical aptitude with minor automobile or light equipment experience.
• Familiarity with pumps: operation, basic troubleshooting, repairs, and routine maintenance.
• Basic electrical knowledge; ability to perform minor repairs safely.
• Ability to operate lawn care equipment including commercial mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
• Comfortable with safe handling, mixing, and application of lawn chemicals and sprays.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a grounds maintenance, landscaping, or facilities role.
• Experience with welding or fabrication is a plus.
• Familiarity with basic plumbing or irrigation systems.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, cold, and other weather conditions.
• Manual dexterity required for operating tools and equipment.
