Job Overview
Thompson Pharmacy & Medical is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician / Clerk to join our team. This role supports pharmacists in daily operations, prescription processing, customer service, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced retail and medical environment.
Experience in retail, healthcare, or customer service is encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications
- Enter prescription data accurately into pharmacy systems
- Process insurance claims and resolve rejections
- Provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone
- Operate cash register and handle point-of-sale transactions
- Maintain inventory, stock medications, and manage supplies
- Follow HIPAA and pharmacy compliance regulations
- Assist with prior authorizations and administrative tasks
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and efficient
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills (data entry required)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment
- Pharmacy setting with direct patient interaction
