Position Summary

The Senior Vice President (VP), Technology is responsible for leading the management of enterprise-level production applications supporting mortgage origination and related business functions. This role ensures that all applications are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives, enabling efficient and compliant mortgage operations. The SVP will collaborate across the following organizations: Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholders to optimize system performance, enhance user experience, and drive technology innovation. The SVP will focus most of their attention on the origination platform, including the prioritization of related project, enhancements, fixes, and will collaborate closely with the aforementioned teams to ensure that this prioritization and respective delivery are well communicated. It is critically important for the SVP of Technology to be well organized, and an excellent communicator, someone who excels at prioritization and engaging across business, technology, someone who is empathetic to business needs, and can balance delivery of new projects, enhancements and fixes across Operations, Sales, Compliance and other areas of the company. The SVP will have two teams reporting to them: Product and Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Technology Roadmap:

• Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for production applications, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the evaluation, selection, implementation, and enhancement of mortgage technology platforms, including LOS (Loan Origination Systems), POS (Point of Sale), and underwriting platforms.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.

Application Management & Optimization

• Lead the deployment, optimization and integration of mission-critical applications supporting mortgage origination.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of production systems through prioritization of efforts to include proactive monitoring and performance tuning.
• Partner with other technology and security teams to maintain application security, data integrity, and compliance with industry regulations.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Build and lead a high-performing team of product owners, business system analysts, QA analysts, and other team members that are driven to build, enhance, test and support applications that address Kind Lending’s goals. It is important that this person has both a Product-driven and Quality Assurance mindset, and delivers high quality software on a consistent basis, for each and every deployment.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Mortgage Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Customer Experience, to ensure technology solutions meet business needs.
• Provide detailed reporting (on as frequently as a weekly basis) and create, maintain an application roadmap (to be updated at least monthly) for Executive Management.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field preferred.

Experience

• 15+ years of experience in leadership roles, with at least 10 years focused on enterprise applications in the mortgage industry.
• Deep expertise in mortgage origination systems.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale technology transformations in a financial services environment.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong understanding of mortgage loan origination, processing, underwriting and closing workflows.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with cloud-based solutions, API integrations, and data analytics in mortgage applications.

Pay Disclosure

The starting base pay range for this position is $250k/annually. The actual base is dependent on many factors such as: work experience, business needs, market demands, and other compensation components. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
