GRVTY’s team uses AI/ML approaches (including NLP) to speed the analysis of massive amounts of aging data to determine what can and cannot be declassified, and the resulting redaction of portions of data items. This effort is critical to protecting our exponentially-growing classified data sets and to responding to an increased number of FOIA requests. The team consists of Data Scientists, ML experts, Software Engineers, Data Analysts, and Systems Integrators working very closely with groups of customer Analysts.

Work on this program takes place in the Herndon, VA area (we cannot support remote work) and requires a TS/SCI + Polygraph clearance (acceptable to this customer).

What You’ll Be Owning

GRVTY is seeking an Applications Developer with a TS/SCI + Poly clearance (applicable to this customer) to join one of our top projects in Herndon, VA. The Full Stack Web Application Developer will work on a suite of services that will supply users with tools to automate a wide range of enterprise-wide applications and data centric mission management applications. The ideal candidate will be willing to apply their talents across the entire Technical Team to meet the customer needs. The candidate will be part of a team of Software Developers, ETL Developers, and Data Scientists to enhance existing production applications and build out new web services on a routinized production cadence to meet the evolving needs of users. This is an exciting opportunity for Software Developers wanting to broaden their credentials in the realm of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML). This is also an exciting opportunity for the Software Developers to develop hands-on experience with new technical tools/applications. Development will take place in an iterative fashion using Agile development methodology with input from all levels of stakeholders.The candidate must have the ability to communicate with project team members, user community, and leadership to assess changes and demonstrate iterative progress.

This Position Will Include a Variety Of Activities, Including

• Integrating AI/ML technology into a production web application.
• Participation with iterative software development teams with adherence to all reporting requirements.
• Designing, developing and unit testing code for a production system and demonstration capabilities.
• Developing rapid prototypes to drive out requirements and design.
• Providing demonstrations and detailed walk through of features to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
• Meeting with stakeholders, analyzing requirements, developing user stories, and translating these into software development tasks.
• Development of technical documentation and briefing materials to support program status reviews, control gates, and other presentations as directed.

What You Must Have

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
• The ability to work individually as well as the ability to work in project teams. Proven ability in decomposing concepts to discrete development tasks and managing your work to a deadline.
• Minimum 4-6 years of demonstrated ability to design, develop, test and implement new applications based on project requirements.
• Minimum 5-7 years building web applications and UI/UX frameworks using Angular, React or JavaScript with specific examples. Java Spring framework is a plus.
• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience working with Linux Operating systems
• Minimum 4-6 years of demonstrated experience with development and deployment of applications in the Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) environment or an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment.
• Minimum 4-6 year of demonstrated experience with search & analytic tools. Examples to include ElasticSearch, Solr, OpenSearch.
• Minimum 4-6 years of microservices up to and including docker, podman, and or containerization services.
• Strong development experience is required. Minimum 4-6 years of Object Orientated software development experience is required. Python is preferred but would consider Java, CSharp, HTML, or SQL.
• Fundamental understanding of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processing with large structured and unstructured raw data sets. This can be demonstrated through education or OJT experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or other relevant field and minimum of six years of experience (Master’s degree equates to an additional 2 years of relevant work experience)

What Would Be Nice To Have

• Demonstrated experience with text analytics and its applications/role/use in business intelligence/business analytics (i.e. search, entity extraction, sentiment analysis, document summarization, document categorization) whether through education or experience.
• Familiarity around machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Keras, Tensorflow whether through education or experience.
• Familiarity experience with data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Pandas, D3.js, ggplot, etc) whether through education or experience.
• Demonstrated experience using Relational or Non-Relational data stores such as MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB whether through education or experience. Proven examples is a plus
• Demonstrated experience working in Agile software development teams.
• Demonstrated experience collaboration using Jira, Confluence, and GitHub for documenting work.
