Licensure Track: Willing to obtain Kentucky Nursing Home Administrator license within 12 months
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, communityminded Assistant Administrator in Training (AIT) to support daily operations in a 110bed skilled nursing facility located in Madisonville, KY. This role is designed for an emerging healthcare leader who values residentcentered care, staff teamwork, and regulatory excellence in a rural setting.
The Assistant Administrator will work directly with the Administrator and department leadership, gaining handson experience in all aspects of longterm care operations, compliance, quality improvement, and leadership, while preparing to obtain a Kentucky Nursing Home Administrator license within one year.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Administrative Support
- Assist the Administrator with daytoday facility operations
- Support department heads including nursing, dietary, housekeeping, and maintenance
- Monitor workflows to support efficient and compliant operations
- Participate in staffing coordination, census awareness, and operational planning
ResidentFocused Care & Community Engagement
- Promote a residentcentered culture in a closeknit rural community
- Support resident rights, qualityoflife initiatives, and family communication
- Address resident and family concerns with professionalism, compassion, and followthrough
- Maintain a visible, approachable presence throughout the facility
Regulatory Compliance & Survey Readiness
- Learn and assist with state and federal regulatory compliance
- Participate in survey preparation, audits, and plans of correction
- Attend QAPI and Quality Assurance meetings
- Track followup and corrective actions to support ongoing compliance
AdministratorinTraining Development
- Actively complete required AdministratorinTraining (AIT) components
- Gain exposure to:
- Medicare and Medicaid regulations
- Reimbursement fundamentals
- Admissions, discharges, and occupancy management
- Prepare to obtain Kentucky Nursing Home Administrator licensure within 12 months
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field)
- Prior experience in healthcare, longterm care, or rural healthcare preferred
- Strong interest in nursing home administration and leadership development
- Commitment to obtaining Kentucky Nursing Home Administrator licensure
- Strong communication, organization, and problemsolving skills
- Ability to build trust and relationships in a Madisonvillebased rural community
- Willingness to be handson and learn all aspects of facility operations
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must meet all background and regulatory screening requirements
- Must be free of any felony or misdemeanor related to abuse, neglect, or misappropriation
