Full Stack Developer (Backend-Focused)

About the Role
We are seeking a Full Stack Developer (Backend-Focused) with a focus on backend development to join our growing team. In this role, you will build and maintain REST APIs and business logic that power our web-based React application, while also developing integrations with external systems. You will work closely with experienced engineers to deliver new features, improve existing systems, and ensure reliable data flow across our platform.
This is a hands-on role where you will spend most of your time developing backend systems while continuing to grow your skills in system design, performance, and scalability. Over time, you will take on increasing responsibility in shaping new features and improving how our platform evolves.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve REST APIs and backend business logic to support front-end development
- Develop and support integrations with third-party systems (e.g., Workday and other external platforms)
- Contribute to backend systems that power our data-driven web application
- Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure smooth integration with our React-based UI
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the stack with support from senior team members
- Assist in improving system performance and reliability through guided optimization efforts
- Support data exchange, transformation, and reliability across integrated systems
- Contribute to the design and development of new modules and features alongside the team
- Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning and code reviews
Requirements
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of experience as a software developer with backend exposure
- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs
- Working experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
- Experience with ReactJS or similar front-end frameworks
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members
- Ownership mindset with a willingness to learn and improve
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience integrating with third-party systems or external APIs (e.g., Workday or similar platforms)
- Experience working on data-driven web applications
- Exposure to performance tuning or scaling backend systems
- Familiarity with cloud environments or third-party integrations
