Information Security Engineer Full Time NEW

Primary responsibilities:

The Information Security Engineer 1 Contractor will perform routine skilled work supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring activities designed to protect IT systems, services, and capabilities.

• Work security related Helpdesk tickets (whitelisting, stolen devices, etc.)
• Approve local software installations
• Perform system health checks
• Configure and monitor phishing campaigns
• Initial triage of potential IRs and maintaining lessons learned/action items
• Monitor vulnerabilities within the Tenable platform
• Collaborate with other IT teams to remediate low priority 3rd party penetration and vulnerability action items
• Stay updated on the latest security threats, technologies, and industry trends, and provide recommendations for improving security posture
• Ability to create and track relevant metrics for continuous improvement
• Assist with monitoring and management of key fob requests
• Monitor and assist with security platform alerts (Varonis, Taegis, etc.)
• Assisting with security agent rollouts
• Assist with light security project efforts
• Remediate low priority Security Score Card findings
• Assist with general tuning of tools and troubleshooting break/fix related to tools
• Creating and updating documentation

The candidate will be working with various security tools and vendors (subject to change):

• Microsoft Azure/O365, Meraki firewalls, Zscaler, Microsoft Defender for Endpoints, Carbon Black Protect, SIEM tools

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of information technology experience required, 1+ Information Security technology preferred
• Good hands-on knowledge of Windows workstations and/or servers
• Experience with IT Infrastructure components
• Exposure to security concepts and tools
• Security+ Certification a plus
