2. About the Opportunity:
The Software Engineer, Lua is part of the CDN Infrastructure team responsible for scaling and improving the reliability and availability of CDN services. This role involves designing systems, coding, and troubleshooting in production to enhance edge services that deliver high-performance traffic routing and caching. The position contributes to the organization by ensuring the CDN supports developers effectively and improves web speed and reliability.
3. Responsibilities:
• Develop new primitives to expand the CDN product feature set
• Optimize CDN reliability and reduce latency
• Analyze web latency to identify and address tail latency issues
• Enhance the developer experience for a team working primarily in Lua
• Collaborate on improving global routing and request handling techniques
4. Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Lua
• Knowledge and experience with web servers and HTTP protocols
• Interest in solving challenges related to serving large volumes of data and traffic
• Strong collaboration skills and commitment to team-driven innovation
• Willingness to experiment and deliver secure, reliable systems
Bonus:
• Experience with Golang
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $196,000 – $280,000. Actual salary depends on skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total package may include benefits, equity, and eligibility for bonuses or variable pay.
