Position: Dump Truck Driver
Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)

Job Description:
Francis O. Day Co., Inc., a respected paving and excavation company that operates in Maryland and Virginia, is seeking skilled Dump Truck Drivers to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting materials such as asphalt and other aggregates to and from job sites.

This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and timely completion of paving projects, including private and state-funded work.

Job Duties:

• Safely operate a dump truck to transport materials to various job sites.
• Load, haul, and dump materials such as asphalt, and other aggregates as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the vehicle.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the paving crew to ensure materials are delivered on time and to the correct location.
• Complete any required paperwork, including delivery logs and maintenance reports.
• Assist with other tasks around the job site as needed, including labor work.

Requirements:

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required (Class A CDL is a plus).
• Clean driving record and familiarity with local and state road regulations.
• 1 years’ experience driving Dump Trucks (in the paving industry preferred).
• Knowledge of asphalt paving and construction operations is a plus.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and manage physical labor as required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Must be available for day and night shifts

Physical Demands:

• Sitting for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours) while operating the dump truck.
• Climbing in and out of the truck multiple times per day.
• Operating vehicle controls with good hand-eye coordination and foot dexterity.
• Consistently wear common protective or safety equipment.

Work Environment:

• Work is performed outdoors.
• Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
