Staff Quality Engineer Full Time NEW

This role is a senior quality engineering position focused on improving the reliability, performance, and safety of complex financial trading systems within a fast-moving fintech environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality user experiences across platform services that support trading, compliance, and financial operations. Acting as a quality owner embedded within cross-functional teams, you will define testing strategies, improve engineering practices, and drive a shift-left quality mindset across development workflows. The environment is highly collaborative and technical, requiring close partnership with product, engineering, security, and business stakeholders. You will help shape how quality is built into systems from design through production. This is an impactful role for a hands-on engineer passionate about automation, system reliability, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

• Design and implement comprehensive test strategies for complex financial platform services, ensuring coverage across functional, compliance, and edge-case scenarios.
• Develop detailed test plans based on customer workflows and system requirements, identifying risks, gaps, and failure modes early in the development lifecycle.
• Drive shift-left quality practices by embedding testing into development workflows and enabling engineers to improve code quality from the start.
• Build and maintain automated test suites, prioritizing high-value and high-risk areas to improve efficiency and release confidence.
• Partner closely with product, engineering, design, and security teams to understand system architecture and ensure quality alignment across all initiatives.
• Identify defect patterns and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve root causes and improve long-term system stability.
• Participate in end-to-end delivery activities including requirements analysis, design reviews, testing, deployment, and production validation.
• Leverage AI and modern testing tools to enhance test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall engineering productivity.
• Provide technical leadership in diagnosing production issues and supporting resolution, including escalation and workaround definition when needed.
• Produce clear, detailed documentation supporting testing processes, system behavior, and quality standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software quality engineering, testing, or related software engineering roles.
• Strong background in fintech, trading systems, or financial services environments is required.
• Experience building and executing test strategies for large-scale, complex, or distributed applications.
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and modern engineering practices.
• Experience working closely with engineering teams in agile environments and contributing to design and architecture discussions.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify system risks, edge cases, and performance issues.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools, with a focus on scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical findings.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and influence quality outcomes without direct authority.
• Interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
