In addition to operating and maintaining whole slide imaging systems and associated software platforms, this role will contribute to computational pathology research by assisting with data management, image preprocessing, and execution of research workflows. Responsibilities include high-quality slide scanning, quality assessment of digital images, dataset curation, and hands-on support for research teams developing and validating machine learning models. The coordinator will collaborate closely with pathology laboratory staff, pathologists, and computational investigators to ensure digital imaging, data integrity, and research pipelines meet standards for accurate diagnosis and robust scientific discovery. This position reports directly to the Digital Pathology Operations Manager.Job Responsibilities: Minimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in computer science, biomedical engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university.Strong organizational skills and general data handling. Excellent computer skills, including SQL, Microsoft Excel, and experience with large datasets.Working knowledge of process improvement methodology.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an anatomic pathology laboratory or digital pathology research environment.Experience with digital pathology imaging software, research workflows, or computational analysis tools.CPHQ/CPPS, Lean, or Six Sigma certification.Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.NYU Grossman School of Medicine provides its staff with far more than just a place to work.
