Position Overview
As the Director of Sales at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Laredo, TX, you will lead the hotel’s sales efforts by developing and executing strategic plans to drive revenue, grow market share, and exceed customer expectations. You will be accountable for achieving room revenue targets, building strong customer relationships, and promoting the DoubleTree by Hilton brand in alignment with Hilton’s high service and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Revenue Generation:
· Develop, implement, and manage the hotel’s annual sales plan aligned with Hilton brand standards and property goals.
· Lead direct sales efforts including group business, corporate accounts, government, SMERF, and extended stay segments.
· Identify new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and community involvement.
· Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals for rooms, F&B, and meeting space.
· Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize pricing strategies and inventory control.
Client Relationships & Customer Service:
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, clients, and third-party partners to drive repeat business.
· Ensure client satisfaction through timely responses, tailored proposals, and post-event follow-up.
· Represent the hotel at industry and community events, trade shows, and Hilton brand initiatives.
Team & Cross-Department Collaboration:
· Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to meet individual and team KPIs.
· Work closely with operations, catering, and front office teams to ensure seamless execution of group events and guest expectations.
· Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture in line with Hilton’s values and service pillars.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
· Room Revenue Growth Year-Over-Year (YoY)
· Conversion Ratio of Leads to Confirmed Business
· Group RevPAR Index vs. Competitive Set
· Customer Satisfaction Scores (e.g., SALT/Medallia)
· Account Retention and Repeat Business Metrics
· Sales Activity Volume (calls, site visits, proposals)
· CRM and lead response timeliness (per Hilton guidelines)
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred.
· 3–5 years of progressive sales leadership experience in a full-service hotel environment.
· Strong knowledge of Hilton systems including Delphi.fdc, OnQ, and the Hilton Sales Platform (HSP).
· Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and delivering high client satisfaction.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
· Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred (due to regional market needs).
· Knowledge of Laredo market a plus.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to travel locally and occasionally regionally for sales calls and industry events.
