Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Laboratory Technologist, where your will assist in fertility treatments by eventually preparing eggs, sperm, and embryos, and performing various laboratory procedures. In this vital role, you will perform a wide range of laboratory procedures, manage complex data, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of specimen processing. Your contributions will support clinical trials, diagnostic testing, and innovative research initiatives, making a real difference in patient care and scientific discovery. Duties

• Performing laboratory procedures: This includes evaluating sperm for various procedures such as IUI, egg fertilization, and embryo culture
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment: Ensure the proper functioning of the laboratory equipment.
• Perform quality control: Testing reagents, media, and medical equipment to ensure accuracy and safety
• Documenting procedures and results: Maintaining detailed records of procedures, patient information, and laboratory results. Maintaining laboratory SOP’s.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals: Communicating with embryologists, fertility specialists, and nurses to ensure smooth operation of the lab and patient care.
• Troubleshooting issues: Identifying and/or resolving problems with equipment or procedures

Skills

• Strong knowledge of reproductive biology: Understanding of oocyte, sperm, and embryo development.
• Excellent laboratory technique: Proficiency with 5 motor skills that involve pipetting, microscopy, and other lab procedures (i.e. intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ISCI) or embryo biopsy).
• Attention to detail: Maintaining accurate records and ensuring the precision of procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment: Handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
• Communication and teamwork skills: Collaborating effectively with other staff members
• Basic Understanding of medical terminology: Ability to communicate with healthcare professionals
• Experience in a clinical or research laboratory: Preferred but not required
• Valid certification or licenses: May be required depending on the specific role.
