Service Advisor / Writer Full Time

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Service Advisor / Writer to join our automotive service team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for maintenance and repairs. Your energetic approach will help guide clients through the service process, accurately document vehicle issues, and recommend appropriate solutions. You will coordinate with technicians to ensure timely repairs while delivering exceptional customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your automotive knowledge and sales skills to enhance customer satisfaction and drive dealership success.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and professionally, establishing a positive rapport from the moment they arrive.
• Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service requests.
• Explain repair procedures, estimated costs, and timelines clearly, ensuring customers understand their options.
• Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, or transmission services to maximize vehicle performance and safety.
• Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and communicate updates to customers throughout the service process.
• Prepare detailed auto estimates using automotive diagnostics tools and service writing software.
• Handle cash transactions, process payments securely, and maintain accurate financial records.

Experience

• Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, diesel engines, shocks & struts, brakes, air brakes, alignments, suspension systems, tire services, oil changes, and auto body repair.
• Experience working with service technicians and understanding of automotive repair workflows.
• Skilled in auto estimating software and sales techniques with a focus on upselling vehicle maintenance services.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
• Familiarity with mechanic work or automotive diagnostics enhances your ability to identify issues accurately.
• Ability to handle cash transactions confidently while maintaining integrity and accuracy in financial dealings. Pay: $25,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
