Owting is an early-stage startup building a mobile app to help people reconnect in the real world. Our mission is to reduce isolation by making it easier to discover, plan, and follow through on meaningful activities with friends and new connections.

We are a pre-seed, pre-revenue company, and this role is not paid at this time. Our team is made up of early collaborators contributing in exchange for ownership, experience, and the opportunity to help shape the foundation of a product with long-term potential.

Role Description

We’re looking for a visual storyteller to help define Owting’s creative voice. This role is focused on translating ideas into compelling video-first narratives using footage, motion, sound, and pacing.

You’ll work closely with marketing and product to create content that clearly communicates what Owting is, why it matters, and why people should participate. The ideal candidate is resourceful in production, has strong instincts for storytelling and timing, and can execute high-quality work even with limited inputs.

Experience with animation or motion graphics is a plus, but not required.

This is an early, high-impact creative role with real ownership over how the brand looks, feels, and communicates.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and edit short-form video for social and marketing channels
• Tell clear, engaging stories using visuals, sound, and pacing
• Elevate content with motion, graphics, or light animation when useful
• Collaborate with product and marketing to shape Owting’s creative voice

Qualifications

• Strong video storytelling skills (portfolio required)
• Proficient with modern video editing tools (Adobe Suite)
• Good instincts for timing, sound, and visual clarity
• Familiar with social media and trends
• Resourceful, self-directed, and reliable (~20+ hrs/week, flexible)
• Animation or motion experience is a plus, not required
