Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant I performs routine administrative duties and provides staff support for Career Services. This position is responsible for assisting with the organization and administration of the day-to-day operations of the department. This position serves as first point of contact to all students, employers, faculty and staff.
Responsibilities
Function 1 –
Serve as first point of contact with students who interact with Career Services in person, by phone, by email, and through programs as well as in the GGC community as a whole.
Function 2 –
Address student needs and requirements including making appointments with the correct staff person, providing instructions on how to use a variety of resources, and giving basic advice.
Function 3 –
Make appropriate arrangements with facilities, catering and other related vendors as well as develop and maintain collegial professional relationships with the appropriate individuals.
Function 4 –
Manage the operations of the department and the lending closet, to include ensuring all supplies are on hand, the physical space is maintained, technology is in working order, and any related matters are handled in a timely, accurate and organized manner.
Function 5 –
Remain familiar with the various software systems that support student progress toward career and/or graduate school and use the systems as required to ensure that students are appropriately supported, including grade assignments in online career development course.
Function 6 –
Adhere to and assist director with budget processing and procedures as requested.
Function 7 –
Manage the clerical administrative functions for the director and other professional staff.
Function 8 –
Perform other duties as assigned

Proposed Salary
$33,280 – $37,900; Salary offer will be dependent on candidate¿s experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
