Hiring Server & Host/Hostess – Golf Course Bar & Grill
Job Description
This role combines traditional restaurant service with the unique atmosphere of a bar and grill. You will welcome and serve members, guests, and event participants while delivering a warm, attentive, and efficient dining experience. The position focuses on high standards of hospitality, accurate order handling, food safety, and strong teamwork in a lively, unionized environment.
Responsibilities
Greet guests promptly and warmly, ensuring they feel welcome from the moment they arrive.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and confirm any special requests or dietary needs.
Enter all orders into the POS system correctly and in a timely manner.
Coordinate closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure food and drinks are prepared and delivered efficiently.
Serve food and beverages in a professional, courteous manner and check back with guests to ensure satisfaction.
Develop a strong understanding of menu items, daily specials, and beverage offerings to make informed recommendations and answer guest questions.
Process payments accurately, handle cash and credit card transactions, and follow all financial and cash-handling procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including tables, service stations, and common areas.
Follow all food-safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment.
Assist with side work such as stocking supplies, setting up service areas, and completing closing duties.
Collaborate with fellow servers, bartenders, cooks, and leadership to support smooth and efficient operations.
Support golf outings, tournaments, banquets, and special events by providing timely and attentive service.
Adapt to a mix of indoor and outdoor service, adjusting to seasonal changes and event needs.
Essential Skills
Prior serving experience in a bar and grill, restaurant setting, or casual dining environment is preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and warmly with guests and team members.
Proven customer-service skills with a focus on creating a positive guest experience.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Capability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items throughout the shift.
Eligibility to meet all legal age requirements for serving alcohol.
Willingness to work in a union environment and follow all policies outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
Comfort using a POS system for order entry and payment processing.
Experience or familiarity with foodservice, retail, or restaurant environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in foodservice, retail stores, or restaurant roles.
Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor service areas, including during busy events.
Ability to remain calm, courteous, and efficient during peak service times.
Interest in learning about menu items, specials, and beverage offerings to enhance guest interactions.
Strong sense of teamwork and reliability, with a commitment to supporting colleagues and overall operations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31200.00 – $31200.00/yr.
