JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Public Attendant
Department: Rooms Division Direct Report: Housekeeping Manager SUMMARY
SCOPE OF ROLE Ensure all public areas of the hotel are clean and
maintained according to the standards set forth by the Hotel and IDM.
Helps to ensure that guests feel welcome, that their needs are met and
that their questions and issues are resolved quickly and appropriately.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/RELEVANT WORK QUALIFICATIONS High school or equivalent
education required. Prior hospitality experience preferred. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

35% Perform necessary cleaning duties in corresponding public areas,
including lobby, front desk and offices, and general cleaning of public
areas such as hallways and public restrooms. Work is to be completed in
the allotted time ensuring the productivity of the department. 15%
Responsible for being knowledgeable about the hotel and providing the
highest levels of guest service through direct guest contact and
cleanliness levels. 20% Ensure all tools and equipment necessary are
properly maintained and stocked. 15% Maintain, at all times, a neat and
clean professional appearance. 15% Ensure work area is clean when
finished. ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS Promote a positive image of the
property to guests. Clean and stock guest rooms with supplies as
requested. Clean and maintain restaurant and banquet event spaces.
Sweep, mop and vacuum flooring. Maintain cleanliness outside of the
building by emptying ashtrays, outdoor garbage and sweep the parking
lot. Enforce hotel safety standards. Perform other duties and handle
projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager. Report property
deficiencies to the management and/or the appropriate department. Comply
with the Lost and Found policy of the Hotel. KEYS TO SUCCESS IN THIS
ROLE INCLUDE Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the
primary language(s) used in the workplace. Must be able to read and
write to facilitate the communication process. General knowledge of the
city where the hotel is located and its attractions. Regular attendance
in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to
time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary
action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the
cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required
to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In
addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is
required. Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply
with IDM rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of
the hotel’s facilities. Associates who violate hotel rules and
regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including
termination of employment. EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK Occasional: 0-19 hours
per week Part-Time: 20-29 hours per week Full-Time: 30-40 hours per week
First Shift: 6:00am2:00pm Second Shift: 2:00pm10:00pm Third Shift:
10:00pm6:00pm SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The Public Attendant directly
reports to the Housekeeping Manager and has limited scope of supervisory
responsibilities based on function of position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift to 50 lbs., clearly verbally communicate with employees
and public, speak, hear, see, read, write, @type, dial, reach and bend.
Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and
controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to stand and
exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hoursin length. Must be able to
exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other departments
of the hotel on a timely basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and
equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning
tasks. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking,
repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and
visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of
communicating with guests, supervisors and other associates. Vision
occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of
near vision and depth perception. Requires manual dexterity to use and
operate all necessary equipment. GROOMING All associates must maintain a
neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per IDM standards. TRAVEL
REQUIREMENTS 0% travel including car, train and/or airline travel along
with overnight stays, will be required as we operate properties in
